Our History

Andrews Truss was founded in 1990 by Kent and Jonathan Chapman—a father-and-son team who knew mountain construction from opposite sides of the same problem.

Kent managed a local builder's supply retailer and watched his customers struggle to find reliable truss suppliers. Jonathan ran a construction company building custom homes in the Smokies—and dealt firsthand with inconsistent quality and poor service from the truss companies available at the time.

They couldn't find a supplier committed to delivering real value: consistent quality, dependable service, and fair pricing. So they became that supplier.

Over 35 years later, building supply companies and contractors across a 200-mile radius have come to know what Andrews Truss delivers—and why it matters.

Four Generations. One Standard.

Today, Andrews Truss continues as a family-owned company under the leadership of Rocky and Carrie Chapman-Scott, with Christopher Scott representing the fourth generation to work in the business.

We're proud of that continuity—not because of tradition for its own sake, but because it reflects a long-term commitment to the builders and contractors we serve.

Our standard hasn't changed: design trusses that work in the real world, build them right, and deliver them where they need to be—on time and intact.

What We've Learned in 35+ Years

Mountain construction demands more from structural systems—and from the companies that support them.

We've learned that reliable partnerships matter more than one-off transactions. That delivery isn't just logistics—it's navigating steep driveways, narrow mountain roads, and jobsites where access is the biggest challenge. That designing and building trusses is only half the job—the other half is making sure they arrive ready to set, without delays or surprises.

We've built our business around those realities. Custom trailers designed for mountain terrain. Experienced drivers who know these roads. Complete truss packages with all hardware included (when you want it). Truss design that accounts for the way homes are actually built—not just the way they're drawn.

Be Simply Better. It Matters.

Better Service
At Andrews Truss, better service means your trusses arrive early—not late—and our drivers show up exactly when they say they will, so your crews can keep moving.

We include all hangers in every custom truss package, which means one less headache for you and no scrambling to match hardware from separate suppliers. With direct access to our sales team and a design process focused on trusses that actually work in the real world, we're built to be a partner you can count on—not just another vendor. Over 35 years in mountain construction has taught us how to anticipate problems before they hit the jobsite, and our family-owned approach means you get the same professional, courteous service whether you're talking to our office, our designers, or our drivers.

Simply put: we make your job easier.
Better Quality
Our truss teams deliver unmatched quality through precision design and production processes.

Every truss is designed using industry-leading software and built with premium Grade 1 lumber—no exceptions—ensuring structural integrity that stands up to the demanding conditions of mountain construction. Our complete packages can also include Simpson Strong-Tie hangers and hardware matched specifically to each project, eliminating compatibility issues and simplifying installation.

The result is trusses that work exactly as designed, allowing contractors to frame with confidence and build exceptional homes without the headaches of field modifications or structural surprises.
Better Delivery
We don't just promise on-time delivery—we consistently deliver ahead of schedule to some of the most challenging job sites in the Southeast.

Our skilled drivers and specialized equipment navigate steep mountain roads and remote access points that standard tractor-trailers can't handle, ensuring your trusses arrive intact and exactly where you need them. With a 200-mile service radius covering Western North Carolina, North Georgia, East Tennessee, and parts of South Carolina, we've built our reputation on punctual, professional delivery that keeps framing crews productive and projects on track.

While other suppliers struggle with mountain terrain, we've spent 35 years mastering it—so you can build without delays, detours, or headaches.
Better Communication
At Andrews Truss, communication isn't just professional courtesy—it's how we build lasting partnerships.

Our sales team provides direct cell phone access so you can get answers when you need them, not when it's convenient for us. We keep our promises on delivery timelines, often arriving ahead of schedule, and proactively notify you when your trusses are ready early. From initial design questions to jobsite logistics, we provide the technical support that turns a truss order into a true project partnership. Whether you're a seasoned contractor or an owner-builder managing your first mountain project, you'll work with the same accessible, experienced team from quote to delivery—backed by four generations of integrity.

Built for Builders Who Value Partnership

We work best with custom home builders and contractors who see us as a project partner, not just a supplier. If you value clear communication, dependable timelines, and craftsmanship that shows up on the truck—not just on paper—we're built for that.

Andrews Truss demonstrates a quality commitment, one customer at a time. We look forward to doing business with you soon.
